Princess Anne - The Princess Royal - will be visiting the City of Barrie on October 22, 2013. She is the Colonel-in-Chief of the Gray and Simcoe Foresters infantry regiment of the Canadian Forces Reserve. The Princess Royal will be formally welcomed at the Southshore Centre with a royal salute played by the Pipes and Drums of The Grey and Simcoe Foresters, followed by an inspection by a Guard of Honour ceremony and an inspection of her regiment. After the inspection, Princess Anne will take part in a dedication of the proposed Military Heritage Park. The proposed park will be located east of the Southshore Centre. Members of the public will be able to watch Princess Anne's arrival at the Southshore Centre. There will be an area along Lakeshore Drive for public viewing.
