Spartan Race is the World leader in the sport, with over 750,000 people from all ages and fitness levels set to compete in their races for 2012. Spectators of all ages are more than welcomed to join the festivities with great obstacle viewing points to take EPIC photos, fitness challenges, spear throw, various contests with prizes, music and kids games. $10 per spectators which includes a $5 voucher rebate towards merchandise. (Free for children under 16.) Additional $5 per vehicle applies to parking.

We’ll stop regularly to visit local art studios to talk to the artist or watch demonstrations. Original works of art will be on display for show and sale.

The historic site will also offer numerous activities and demonstration,including Native games such as lacrosse, making clay Okies (a Huron good luck charm), children’s heritage crafts, and basket making. Sainte-Marie’s Interpretive Staff will showcase waterway demonstrations, historic fire-starting, 17th-century medicine, and historic cooking. There will be a wigwam display in Sainte-Marie’s foyer, and animated films for kids will be shown throughout the day.
