Pariliament Hill Commemorates War of 1812 Aug 9-11

In November of 1812 a fleet of American ships pursued the mighty Royal George.  At 96 feet in length, the Royal George was Lake Ontario's flagship for the Provincial Marines. Built in Kingston three years before, the Royal George was armed with 22 32-pounder artillery guns.This featured re-enactment takes place over the 2012 Canada Day Weekend between Bath located on Lake Ontario in the Land of Lakes and Kingston (once the capital of Canada) Land of Lakes-Bath to Kingston. Kingston Ontario War of 1812 Quilt Competition June 8-10

As part of Quilts Kingston 2012, The Limestone Quilters Guild and The Kingston Heirloom Quilters have challenged their members to  interpret " 1812 "  in  a small wallhanging ( no larger than 100 inches in perimeter)  These will be displayed and judged by viewers at the Quilt Show and Sale.
The Show will also featured hundreds of quilts and wallhangings, showcase artist Kathy Wylie , a large Quilters' Boutique, Merchant's Mall and a Lunchroom  There will be embroidery, rughooking and quilting displays as well as advice on the Care and Repair of quilts and a Lunchroom.
