Ontario Travel to Fresh Veg North of Toronto
While listening to today's Fresh Air interviews of chefs and farmers on CBC and their excitement surrounding the fresh asparagus, reminded me to head over to Barrie's farmers market. I had may first taste of fresh asparagus last week after visiting Barrie Hill farm just north of Barrie. I actually enjoyed two raw spring spears on the way home.......... crisp and delicious. See Ontario Farmers' Markets for a location near you. Today's Globe and Mail features Cottage Country markets, farms and road side stands.

Travel Benefits For Canadian Travelers
The CBC is reporting today on a study of travel benefits for consumers
"Among those who took a trip for pleasure, almost two-thirds (63 per cent) said their main reason for taking the trip was a desire for rest and relaxation. The next most popular benefit cited was a desire to keep family ties strong. A full 48 per cent of all travellers responded that renewing personal connections and building lasting memories with spouses and children was a highly important benefit of vacations."
Needless to say the top 2 benifits can be found here in Canada, and specifically in Ontario. Check out the Family Getaway section of the Ontario Travel North website.

The service providers here do not miss one opportunity to offer 'little extras' for guests and make use of idle time.
