The CBC is reporting today on a study of travel benefits for consumers

"Among those who took a trip for pleasure, almost two-thirds (63 per cent) said their main reason for taking the trip was a desire for rest and relaxation. The next most popular benefit cited was a desire to keep family ties strong. A full 48 per cent of all travellers responded that renewing personal connections and building lasting memories with spouses and children was a highly important benefit of vacations."

Ministry of Tourism is reporting a great start to Spring and Spring Skiing north of Toronto

"It’s the first official day of spring and it is going to be a beautiful sunny, early spring type day with temperatures edging up to around the +4 degrees Celsius mark across ski country. Snow surfaces will start off the day as machine groomed granular snow and turn soft later this afternoon. We can expect a great spring ski weekend on the slopes and trails with temperatures reaching the +4 to +6 degrees Celsius range along with lots of sunshine. We still have a few cross country opportunities available as well; however they are limited to the snow belt areas of central and northern Ontario."

Maple producers can check for new sap flow each day where temperatures warm to around plus 5 C degrees C higher, following freezing nights. Where new sap flow is forecast, try to process previously collected sap from storage tanks as soon as possible to ensure storage for additional sap is available.
